Lionsgate teams up for DVD partnership

NewstogramLionsgate and newly minted Wrekin Hill Entertainment, have formed a home entertainment distribution partnership for DVD, Blu-ray, digital delivery and video on demand.

Lionsgate will become exclusive home entertainment distributor for all Wrekin Hill theatrical releases in the United States.

The announcement was made Monday by Steve Beeks, president and Co-Chief Operating Officer of Lionsgate, and Chris Ball, president and CEO of Wrekin Hill. Ball said his company will be announcing several acquisitions shortly and looks forward to working with Lionsgate on these films.

Lionsgate has been touting its box office-to-home entertainment revenue conversion rate as the best in industry at 20% for packaged product and 18% for VOD for such titles as "Killers," "Kick-Ass," "From Paris With Love" and "Daybreakers."

Former Newmarket Films topper Ball announced formation of Wrekin Hill as a production and distribution label a month ago. Ball became co-chairman of Exclusive Media Group after EMG bought Newmarket last year.
